Lancers rout South Decatur

Zach Murphy had four hits, stole three bases and drove in two runs as Edinburgh beat South Decatur 11-5 on Thursday. The Lancers scored in all seven innings.

Grizzly Cubs fall to Cardinals

A late Franklin rally fell short in a 5-3 loss at Southport on Thursday. Branson Pugh took the loss for the Grizzly Cubs (4-4) despite not allowing an earned run.

Softball

Trojans win against Brownsburg

Piper Belden, Jordyn Rudd, Alexis Rudd and Abby Herbst each hit a home run in Center Grove’s 10-1 win against Brownsburg on Thursday. Herbst scattered seven hits in earning the win for the top-ranked Trojans (9-0).

Edinburgh crushes South Decatur

Grace Joiner went 5 for 5 and winning pitcher Maddi Clark struck out 10 and homered in a 15-1 rout of South Decatur on Thursday. Joiner and Paige Burton each drove in three runs for the Lancers.

Woodmen fall to Hornets

Greenwood got three hits and two RBIs from Dominique Proctor but fell just short against Beech Grove 4-3 on Thursday.

Girls tennis

Warriors top Woodmen

Whiteland defeated Greenwood 4-1 on Thursday. Reese Johnson and Sophie Vinter had singles victories for the Warriors, who got doubles wins from Bri Harwell and Sarah Scott at No. 1 and Hannah Blum and Riley Burnside at No. 2. Emily Chatham picked up a point for the Woodmen.

Trojans defeat Brownsburg

Isabella Schoolcraft, Ellie Strube and Jillian Garrett swept the singles points to propel Center Grove to a 4-1 victory against Brownsburg on Thursday. The Trojans also got a win at No. 2 doubles from Holyn Aukerman and Abby Hoard.

Grizzly Cubs pull win out

Franklin edged Mooresville 3-2 behind a three-set win by Rachael Pinnick and Allison Bennett at No. 2 doubles. The Grizzly Cubs got singles wins from Alexa Wilkison and Emma Genter.

Lancers finish third

Despite a medalist round of 41 from Bladen Hancock, Edinburgh finished third in a three-way meet against Southwestern (Shelby) and Morristown on Thursday.

Track and field

Woodmen sweep three-way

Greenwood cruised past Beech Grove and Greenwood Christian on Thursday. Hanna Anderson won three individual events (100, 200, 400) for the girls, while Olivia Weston (300 hurdles, high jump) and Emily Bonser (shot, discus) each won two. Bonser set a school record in the shot. Nick Young (shot, discus) was a double winner for the boys.

Grizzly Cubs finish off sweep

Franklin beat North Central in three sets Wednesday, 25-11, 25-18, 25-16. Owen Mahin and Austin Sewell each had seven kills in the win, with Sewell adding 12 assists.
