Greenwood hires new airport manager

The Greenwood Board of Aviation Commissioners approved hiring a new airport manager last week.

Rick Ferrell, the current assistant manager at the airport, has been hired as the airport manager for the Indy South Greenwood Airport. He has been the assistant airport manager since 2010 and has worked for the airport for 23 years.

The previous manager of Greenwood’s municipal airport, Gary Loveless, who the city hired in September, submitted a resignation letter earlier this month but didn’t give a reason why he was leaving the job, deputy mayor Terry McLaughlin said.

The mayor’s office was satisfied with the job Loveless had done at the airport, McLaughlin said.
