Letter: Armed security should be in every local school

To the editor:

In response to the article in the Daily Journal on April 21 (“Trying to fight back”) I can’t understand why school systems in Johnson County are against having trained armed security personnel in every school.

Indianapolis Public School System and the township school systems have had a school police force for years. When are the school systems in Johnson County going to get serious about school safety? Locked doors, kids and staff hiding and kids talking about fighting back by throwing things at a person with a gun is insane. The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun and just remember: When seconds count, the police are only minutes way!
