Mid-State releases all-sports standings

Franklin was second overall and Whiteland third in the Mid-State Conference’s final all-sports standings, which were released Tuesday morning.

The Grizzly Cubs were second to Plainfield in both the boys and girls standings after winning league titles in volleyball, boys cross country, boys and girls swimming and boys and girls tennis.

Whiteland was buoyed by outright conference titles in baseball and girls basketball as well as a share of the girls soccer championship. Greenwood, which was first in boys tennis in the fall, was sixth in the overall standings.

The league will be adding an eighth school, Perry Meridian, beginning in August.
