Five treated after Friday afternoon crash

Five people were taken to hospitals for treatment following a head-on collision east of Greenwood.

Deborah Rains, 67, of Greenwood, was driving west on Rocklane Road near County Road 600E around 1 p.m. Friday when her vehicle was struck head-on by a car driven by Jason Affolter, 42, of Akron, Ohio, that was going the opposite direction and driving in her lane, a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report said.

Rains was taken to Franciscan Health Indianapolis for treatment after complaints of pain to her arm. She was treated and released, a hospital spokesperson said.

Her three grandchildren, who were passengers in the vehicle, 10-year-old Caden Rains, 3-year-old Kendall Rains and 7-year-old Jace Rains, were taken to Franciscan Health Indianapolis for treatment after complaints of pain. No information was available about their conditions, a hospital spokesperson said.
