Truck stolen in Greenwood robbery

Police are searching for a man who robbed a customer outside of a Greenwood store, stealing his truck.

Just after 2 p.m. Sunday, police were called to a business in the 800 block of South U.S. 31, near Smith Valley Road. A customer reported being robbed at gunpoint, with the thief stealing his truck, according to the Greenwood Police Department report.

The thief had a gun, but police are not sure if it was a real gun, Greenwood Police Chief John Laut said.

The customer was slightly injured in a struggle, Laut said.

Police are now looking for the man and the stolen truck.

The man was between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, was in his mid-20s and had a beard, Laut said.

The truck was a grey 2000 Chevrolet 2500 with a silver tailgate and the license plate TK788MER, Laut said.
