New Director of Student Services starts at Greenwood

A new Greenwood schools administrator wants to make sure all students are learning and that teachers are getting the support they need to meet all students’ needs.

Jill Lambert was hired as Greenwood’s new director of student services, an opportunity she couldn’t pass up when she heard about the opening, she said.

Lambert, who previously worked at Wayne Township Schools as an assistant director of student services and has 21 years of experience in education, wanted to come to Greenwood because the school district has a great reputation for working to educate all students, she said.

“I wanted to come somewhere where I could learn from a fantastic team and be a part of that team,” Lambert said.

“To have the opportunity to lead at such a great district, I just couldn’t pass it up.”

In her new role, Lambert will work with all students by focusing on meeting their diverse needs, educating all students and continue to build on Greenwood’s methods of teaching and learning. Lambert will also work with teachers and principals to provide support and ensure students are getting what they need to grow in their learning.

“My priorities are to be highly visible in classrooms and to support teachers and support building principals in meeting the needs of their kids,” Lambert said.

Lambert spent her first morning working with students in the essential skills classroom at Greenwood Community High School. One of her goals is to work closely with the essential skills classes to make sure the structure of the content is consistent across all the schools in the district, she said.
