Man arrested after two wrecks

A man was arrested after a hit-and-run and a second, head-on collision near Franklin.

Jeremy R. Prange, 26, 9901 Pendleton Pike, Lot 200, Indianapolis, was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated.

Police were called to two accidents within moments of each other just after 9 p.m. Friday night.

In the first accident in the 4300 block of Greensburg Road, a driver reported a dark colored vehicle was traveling in her lane and then scraped the side of her vehicle, damaging the mirror and paint, according to the report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

Moments later, police were called to a second, head-on collision along Minuteman Way, near King Street in Franklin.

Prange told police he had been testing out his new vehicle and was driving along Greensburg Road, when he suddenly saw headlights, but couldn’t remember what happened next, the report said.

A breath test showed Prange had a blood-alcohol content of .19 percent, the report said.

Prange was taken to Johnson Memorial Health for a blood test and to be checked out. A passenger in his vehicle was taken to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital after reporting pain in her right side, the report said.

Prange was taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was held on $1,000 bond.
