Trojans rout Warriors

Center Grove defeated Warren Central, 6-0, on Monday. Piper Belden and Kailee Joseph each scored twice for the Trojans (4-1, 2-0 MIC), while Katelyn Jansen and Megan Perry each added single tallies. Jostin Reeves had a pair of assists.

Girls golf

Grizzly Cubs win three-way

No. 20 Franklin earned victories over Whiteland and Decatur Central on Monday. The Grizzly Cubs finished with a total of 171, beating the Warriors by nine.

Whiteland’s Bri Harwell was the medalist with a 38. Taylor Drake shot a 40 to lead Franklin, followed by Liv Parramore (43), Ava Ray (44) and Carly Woodward (44).

Woodmen drop league match

Greenwood lost to Mooresville on Monday, 3-2. Jacob Rothaar and Nick Belovic earned straight-set victories at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively, for the Woodmen (4-2).

Lancers fall to Jets

Edinburgh lost to Hauser on Monday, 4-1. Coltan Henderson picked up the Lancers’ lone point with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles.

Braves beaten by Patriots

Indian Creek dropped its conference opener against Owen Valley, 5-0. The Braves fall to 1-3 overall.

Grizzly Cubs hire new head coach

Kilah Dickey, a former assistant coach who played at Purdue, has been named the new head coach at Franklin.

Dickey, a 2007 Cathedral graduate who then played for the Boilermakers through 2011, has worked as an assistant both at West Lafayette and with the Grizzly Cubs. She replaces Lisa Whitlow-Hill, who stepped down after last season.
