Voter registration deadline is Oct. 9

<p>Residents who plan to vote in the upcoming election in November can check their registration status on <a href="http://www.indianavoters.in.gov">www.indianavoters.in.gov</a>. They can also update any of their information that may have changed and register to vote if they need to.</p><p>The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 6 election is Oct. 9. Early voting begins Oct. 10.</p><p>The number of registered voters in Johnson County dropped by more than 4 percent since the presidential election in 2016 due to a state-required cleanup of registered voters who have been inactive for more than two elections.</p><p>To register, residents must have a valid Indiana Driver’s License or Indiana State Identification Card, be a citizen of the United States and be at least 18 years old on or before the next election. A 17-year-old may register and vote in the primary election if the voter turns 18 on or before the election.</p><p>Residents who have trouble finding themselves on the Indiana voters website or don’t have access to the internet can call Johnson County’s voter registration office between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at 317-346-4466.</p>
