Rebels roll into sectional final

Host Roncalli routed Shortridge, 8-0, in a sectional semifinal match on Thursday evening. Jenna Rikke, Jamie Mahin, Sidney Kritzmire, Isabella Battiston, Kathryn Madriz, Aryssa Vaughn, Sophia Saran and Sophia Dietz each scored a goal for the Rebels.

Volleyball

Warriors drop regular-season finale

Whiteland lost to Perry Meridian on Thursday, 25-7, 25-18, 20-25, 25-11. The Warriors (13-17, 3-4 Mid-State) will face Martinsville in a sectional match at Greenwood next week.

Rebels sweep Olympians

Class 4A No. 10 Roncalli posted a three-set win over Columbus East on Thursday, 25-14, 25-16, 25-19. Betsy Crosley had 11 kills for the Rebels, while Grace Hegewood added 10 Elizabeth Eads had nine.

Franklin College

Volleyball swept by Thomas More

Facing the No. 7 team in Division III, Franklin College was handed a 25-5, 25-15, 25-13 defeat at Thomas More on Thursday. Libby Stahl had 16 digs for the Grizzlies (7-11), while Abby Sewell had six kills.
