Shepherd second at PING Invitational

Erica Shepherd shot a final-round 75, birdieing her final hole to secure a tie for second place at the PING Invitational, which concluded Monday at Karsten Creek in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

After finishing Saturday’s first round atop the leaderboard with a 70, Shepherd carded a 77 on Sunday to fall one shot back. She finished with a three-day total of 222, one stroke behind winner Rose Zhang.

Shepherd will conclude her 2018 season at the Rolex Tournament of Champions next month in Florida.

Women’s tennis tops Rose-Hulman

Franklin College defeated Rose-Hulman on Sunday, 6-3, getting singles and doubles victories from Maddie Bright, Karen Dringenburg and Holyn Eldridge. Alexa Schofner paired with Eldridge in doubles, where the team of Brianna Hutton and Grace Otte also got a win.

Men’s golf wraps fall season

Franklin College concluded its fall season Sunday with a fifth-place finish at the Stateline Shootout, hosted by Mount St. Joseph. The Grizzlies finished with a two-day total of 600.

Jackson Williams paced the team with a 1-over-par 145 and a sixth-place individual finish, while Alan Showalter tied for seventh with a 146.

Women’s golf finishes sixth

Franklin College was sixth at Wittenburg University’s Pat Clouse Invitational, which concluded Sunday. The Grizzlies were led by Hannah Sharkey, who was 22nd overall with a two-round total of 176.
