Man arrested after driving while intoxicated with a toddler

<p>A Greenwood man was arrested after police said he drove while under the influence with a toddler in his vehicle.</p><p>Ian Lovett, 37, 2452 Galenda Drive, was arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated with a previous conviction and possession of paraphernalia. </p><p>A Johnson County Sheriff’s Department officer responded to an accident at State Road 135 and Fairview Road at 6:05 p.m. Thursday. An off-duty officer saw a vehicle driven by Lovett drive on a median to go around vehicles, hit a sign and then stop in the middle of the intersection, according to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.</p><p>Lovett was moving slowly, seemed lethargic and fell asleep when an officer asked him for information. Lovett told the officer he was tired. There was a 2-year-old girl in the backseat of the vehicle, the report said.</p><p>He failed several field sobriety tests and an officer found a glass smoking pipe in his pocket, according to the report.</p><p>He was taken to the Johnson County Jail, where he was held on $2,000.</p>
