GREENWOOD

Wendell “Wendy” Wayne Wade, 75, of Greenwood, passed away October 19, 2018.

He was born in Beech Grove, Indiana to Walton Wesley and Leneva Eudoris (Miller) Wade.

Wendy had a great sense of humor, was well like by everyone, and everywhere he went he knew someone.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Ford Motor Company as an auto worker for 33 years, and upon retirement he enjoyed riding his Harley Roadster.

He loved to watch supercross and motocross every Saturday and going to car lots to look at cars, even though he wasn’t going to purchase one. Wendy enjoyed frequent trips to Minnesota and the Indianapolis Zoo and was a loving “grandpa” to more children than just his own grandchildren. His favorite music was Motown and although he wasn’t a cat person, he enjoyed his cat, Mike. Wendy’s famous green beans will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Erin Wade.

Wendy is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carol Wade; daughters, Ann (Roger) Hays and Joy Perry; brother, Gerald “Gary” (Susan) Wade; sister, Nancy Waldon; grandchildren, Eric and Riley Perry and Laurel, Victoria and Brooke Hays; great grandchild, Logan Hays; nieces and nephews, Holly (Jason) Longshore, Scott (Jill) Waldon and Leneva Jo Waldon and great nephew, Finn Longshore.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 from noon to 2 p.m. with a funeral service at 2 p.m. in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Indianapolis Zoo.
