Franklin College receives grant to help chemistry program

<p>Franklin College recently received a grant that will help the college’s chemistry department.</p><p>The Nazir Khatri Fund to Support Engaged Learning in Chemistry was recently established by the Hoover Family Foundation. The grant amount is $25,000.</p><p>The foundation established the Hoover Dean’s Fellow in Chemistry and has supported the Franklin College Science Center, currently under construction, according to a news release from the college.</p><p>Khatri began teaching chemistry at Franklin College in 1989 has been the only Hoover Dean’s Fellow. He retired in May 2018 and was given emeritus status by the Franklin College Board of Trustees.</p>
