FRANKLIN
Joyce Louise (Beeler) Green, 92, of Franklin, IN, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and holding the hands of her son, Billy, and her granddaughters on Sunday, October 28th, 2018.
Joyce was born on March 18, 1926 in Bluffton, Indiana to her parents, Ervin and Mary (Gilbert) Beeler; both preceded her in passing. She attended West Aurora High School and Frances Shimer Academy. She continued her studies at Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, receiving her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1952. Joyce was well respected throughout her years as an RN and worked for many years at Franklin College. Joyce was also the head nurse of the Johnson County Health Department before working at the Indiana Masonic Home, where she taught many nurse aides.
Joyce married the love of her life, William (Bill) B. Green Sr. on November 16, 1952 after meeting on a blind date. They were just about to celebrate 66 years of wedded bliss. Together they built a strong, solid marriage and loving family. They raised two intelligent and successful children, Bill (Billy) Green Jr. and Jane (Janie) Krueger.
She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Joyce was part of a Bridge Club for many years and was a wonderful friend to many. She also enjoyed cross-stitching and her daily word search puzzles in the newspaper. Joyce was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and gave faithfully to many non-profit organizations.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was welcomed into heaven by her daughter, Janie, son-in-law Greg Krueger, and brothers, Jack White and Dick Beeler. She is survived by her adoring husband, Bill, dedicated son, Billy, and loving daughter-in-law, Susie, all of Franklin, IN. Her younger brothers, David (Suzanne) Beeler of Camp Verde, AZ and Jim (Carolyn) White of Pensacola, FL and sister-in-laws Anne White of Maine and Caroline Beeler of Payson, AZ also survive. Joyce will be greatly missed by her six granddaughters, Jenny McCauley of Franklin, IN, Joanna (Jeff) Christoff of Franklin, IN, Erin (Doug) Harris of Franklin, TN, Jessica (Mark) Gillaspy of Seymour, IN, Amy (Nicolas) Alarcon of Atlanta, GA and Jamie Green of Franklin, IN. Joyce was able to know and love her 10 great-grandchildren, Hailey, Macy, Jonah, Lena, Emma, Lex, Cole, Cash, Gracie and Gretta, and her great-great-granddaughter, Mia. Joyce also leaves behind many nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
The Green family feels blessed and privileged to have had such a strong woman leading our family. Joyce taught her family many lessons and has left them with an abundance of wonderful memories to cherish. She will be greatly missed but we are grateful for the long and accomplished life she lived. We find comfort knowing she is reunited with her daughter, Janie.
Revs. Jim White and Andy Kinsey will conduct a celebration of Joyce’s life at Grace United Methodist Church, 1300 E Adams Drive, Franklin, IN 46131, on Saturday, November 3, 2018. Visitation begins at 10am with service following at noon. Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin is assisting the family with arrangements.
