Our loving mom and grandma, Carole Johnson, 85, died on Friday the 21st of December at Rosegate Assisted Living in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Born on the 4th of January in 1933, Carole grew up in southern Indianapolis and attended Southport High School. She married her high school sweetheart, David Lee Johnson, just after high school graduation. She was happily married for 42 years to David before his passing. Carole loved music, flowers, and the Indianapolis Colts. Most of all, she loved her family. She was an open-hearted woman, helping others in any way she could.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her baby brother, Mark Lane, and her husband David Lee Johnson.
She is survived by her three children, Tom Johnson, Joe Johnson, and Jenny Schuster, along with her seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her dear friends and the many people her kindness has impacted.
Memorial gifts can be given through a donation to the Gary Brackett Impact Foundation, an organization headed by Indianapolis Colt’s Linebacker, Gary Brackett, dedicated to providing services to chronically sick children and their families.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. St. Rd. 135, Greenwood, IN, with the service at 1:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
