Jack and Shirley Wuensch of Bargersville will be celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Banta Community Hall, 6690 N. Banta Road, Bargersville. The couple has requested no gifts.
Mr. Wuensch and the former Shirley Mae Bowman, were married on Feb. 10, 1954 in the parsonage of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Indianapolis.
She worked as a nurse’s aide at Johnson Memorial Hospital and is also a retired school bus driver for Center Grove Schools where she worked for 20 years. She is also a farmer.
He worked at the Indianapolis Stock Yards for many years in addition to farming, and he also drove a school bus for five years for Center Grove Schools.
The couple has two children, Darlena Riley of Bargersville, and Kent Wuensch (Teresa) of Trafalgar; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, two step grandchildren and four great-step grandchildren.
