Motorcycle, vehicle damaged in suspected drunk driving crashes

A Franklin woman was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle under the influence, failure to stop after an accident and invasion of privacy.

She is suspected of hitting a garage, two vehicles and possibly a pole or tree and leaving the scene after an incident just before 10 p.m. Saturday, according to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

Cori M. Thayer, 42, 6106 Evelyn Avenue in Franklin, was arrested. Police found her in rural Franklin, and she was slurring her words and failed a field sobriety test, the report said.

Thayer told police she had been drinking and arguing with her boyfriend, and she left his home because she isn’t supposed to be there due to a protective order. She did not recall the accidents, the report said.

A nearby resident said Thayer damaged a garage and knocked over a motorcycle with a maroon Chevy Impala, crashed into a tree, drove through a yard and struck another vehicle, the report said.

She was held at the Johnson County jail on $3,000 bond.
