Indy entrepreneur to lead Greenhouse workshop

An Indianapolis-based entrepreneur will lead a Greenwood business hub’s first workshop of the year, focusing on how to think fast in a rapidly changing environment.

David DeRam, co-founder and CEO of Indianapolis-based Greenlight Guru, will teach the interactive session to members of the local business community at 4 p.m. Thursday at Oaken Barrel Brewing Co. It is expected to last about 90 minutes.

Local entrepreneurship hub, Greenhouse, in partnership with the Greater Greenwood Chamber of Commerce, will host the event this week, the first of several this year. Local businessman and former redevelopment commission president Brent Tilson will moderate.

Tilson helped launch Greenhouse in 2017, according to a news release. He is also serving as this year’s "entrepreneur in residence."

"This program is to develop and grow entrepreneurs, innovators, business owners and leaders. It will be a specialized, interactive collaborative learning environment where we’ll put 21st Century skills to practice. It isn’t adaptive to the general public," said Christian Maslowski, executive director of the Greenwood Chamber.

DeRam’s track record of success spans three decades. He has created and grown a variety of finance, medical and nonprofit startups. Greenlight Guru, his most recent venture, designs quality management software to help medical device companies bring their products to market more quickly, the news release said.

Tickets for the event are $25. They are available online at https://web.greenwoodchamber.com/events/GreenhouseProgram-3068/details.

RSVPs are suggested, but tickets can also be purchased at the door, Maslowski said.
