Jail inmate used false identity when arrested

<p>A man who was arrested on multiple drug charges, criminal confinement and theft of a firearm used a false identity when he was booked into the Johnson County jail, police said.</p><p>Russell Dawayne Johnson, 47, Greenwood, was not arrested. A man used his identity when he was booked into the jail on March 26, Damian Katt, major of the investigations division with the Johnson County Sheriff’s office said.</p><p>Johnson’s name was included in the March 27 Daily Journal listing of inmates who had been booked into jail because of the man using his identity.</p><p>Daniel Dawayne Suarez, 43, Virginia, was the man arrested. He was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, criminal confinement, theft of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine.</p><p>A false informing charge was added later, Katt said.</p><p>Suarez is also wanted on an out-of-state warrant from Virginia. Law enforcement officials from Virginia are making plans to extradite Suarez, Katt said.</p>
