Woman runs over man with vehicle

A Franklin woman was arrested after she punched a relative and ran over him with a vehicle, police said.

Ashley Nicole Joyce, 23, 4065 Knollwood Ave., was arrested on charges of domestic battery and criminal recklessness.

Police were dispatched to the 4000 block of Knollwood Avenue at 4:48 p.m. Wednesday. A man told police that Joyce ran over him with her vehicle. A second caller told police they saw Joyce hit the man, according to a report from the Franklin Police Department.

The man told police he was trying to prevent Joyce from leaving the home after a fight because she did not have a valid driver’s license and she ran over him with the vehicle, according to the report.

Three teenage witnesses told police they saw Joyce punch the man multiple times and the man jumped onto the vehicle’s back bumper when Joyce began to drive around the property, the report said.

The witnesses told police the man then jumped off the bumper and went to talk to Joyce. Joyce then swerved the vehicle into the man, knocking him over before hitting a tree on the property, according to the report.

An officer saw tire marks in the yard and around the property, the report said.

The man received medical treatment from medics who came to the scene and was then taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital.

Joyce is being held at the Johnson County jail on $2,000 bond.
