<p>FRANKLIN FFA PLANT SALE, May 4, 5 and 11, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sundays, Franklin Community High School, 2600 Cumberland Drive.</p><p>An annual plant sale will help local students run a school program.</p><p>The Franklin FFA kicks off their second weekend of their annual plant sale. Proceeds from the sale will benefit their activities throughout the year.</p><p>The sale will feature vegetable plants, herbs, geraniums and flower baskets.</p><p>CANNING IN JOHNSON COUNTY, newest exhibit at the Johnson County Museum of History. Opening reception is 6 to 8 p.m. May 2, 135 N. Main St., Franklin. This exhibit will discuss the history of the canning industry in Johnson County.</p><p>People who want to learn how county residents of the past helped preserve the nation’s food during the mid-20th century can check out the Johnson County Museum of History’s latest exhibit.</p><p>Canning in Johnson County kicks off with a free opening reception today from 6 to 8 p.m. A talk of canning will be at 6:15 p.m. Refreshments and appetizers will be served.</p><p>This exhibit will discuss the history of the canning industry in Johnson County. At one time, Johnson County was the number one canning county in the state.</p>
