Two council members out in Prince’s Lakes

A longtime resident has won the primary to be the clerk-treasurer for one of the smallest communities in the county and two incumbents were ousted from the town council in Prince’s Lakes.

Erica Giger has narrowly won the Republican primary for Prince’s Lakes clerk-treasurer. Her opponent, Hope Nutt, received 114 votes. Giger received 121 votes.

Prince’s Lakes Town Council incumbents Mike Gallamore, Greg Nelson and Troy Meadows held on to their seats.

Incumbents Charlie Bourne and Lorri McCall were ousted by newcomers Karen Harrison and Philip Montarsi.

All candidates now move on to the November general election, where they could face opposition by Democrat or independent candidates.

Harrison was previously the town’s clerk-treasurer, but gave up that job to run for town council.

The winners of the general election in November will take office in January and serve four-year terms.
