Center Grove students to celebrate all things art at festival

<p>Lovers of music and art can get their fill at a local school district’s arts festival.</p><p>Visual and performing arts will take center stage in Center Grove over the next week and a half. The annual Festival of the Arts will feature students from all eight schools in the school district.</p><p>The event will be held in conjunction with the Show Choir Spring Spectacular, Spring Band Concert and Orchestra Spring String Fling.</p><p>This year’s Festival of the Arts will include more than 3,000 pieces of art, including acrylic, water and oil painting, ceramics, photography, pen &amp;amp; ink, and pencil drawings, from the elementary schools, middle schools and high school. This exhibit is free and open to the public.</p>[sc:text-divider text-divider-title="Story continues below gallery" ]<p>All events are at Center Grove High School, 2717 S. Morgantown Road.</p><p>The times and dates of each festival event is:</p><p><p><strong>Art festival</strong></p><p>3 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday</p><p>11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday</p><p>3 to 8 p.m. May 17 and 18</p><p>1:30 to 3:30 p.m. May 19</p><p>1 to 3 p.m. May 20</p><p>No tickets are required and viewing the art is free.</p><p><p><strong>Choirs Spring Spectacular</strong></p><p>7 p.m. today and Friday. Tickets are $10 and silver cards will be accepted for today’s show only. All high school choirs will perform.</p><p><p><strong>Orchestra Spring String Fling</strong></p><p>7 p.m. Monday. Orchestras from the high school and middle school will perform. The event is free.</p><p><p><strong>High School Bands Spring Concert</strong></p><p>7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Admission is free. All of the high school’s concert bands will perform.</p>
