Indianapolis man arrested on battery, confinement charges

<p>An Indianapolis man was arrested after police said he put his hands around the necks of two women, lunged at a police officer and barricaded two women in an apartment.</p><p>Alexander Thomas Frick, 1421 Golden Rod Drive, Indianapolis, was arrested on charges of battery on a public safety officer, battery, resisting law enforcement, strangulation, criminal confinement, intimidation and disorderly conduct.</p><p>Greenwood police were called to an apartment in the 100 block of Kings Mill Road in Greenwood at 1:09 a.m. Sunday on a disturbance.</p><p>A man told an officer that Frick had beaten up two women. The officer saw Frick standing near some cars next to the apartment building, according to a report from the Greenwood Police Department.</p><p>The officer asked Frick to sit down and Frick lunged at the officer. The officer pushed Frick onto a car and Frick jumped up and lunged at the officer again. The officer used a bar to force Frick to the ground where he refused to give officers both hands so he could be handcuffed, according to the report.</p><p>A woman told police that she saw Frick put both his hands around another woman’s neck and say “If you do not make out with me, I’m going to choke you,” the report said.</p><p>The woman told Frick “no” and he began to squeeze on her neck, causing her to struggle to breathe and almost lose consciousness, the report said.</p><p>While strangulation means the act of killing by squeezing the throat, Indiana law defines it as intentionally applying pressure to another person’s throat or obstructing his or her nose or mouth.</p><p>A woman told police she tried to pull Frick off the other woman, when he pushed her off of him and elbowed her. Frick let go of the first woman and began squeezing the throat of the woman who attempted to help the other woman, according to the report.</p><p>The women tried to leave the apartment, but Frick barricaded the door and had a baseball bat at his feet. A woman told police Frick said he would kill them if they tried to leave, the report said.</p><p>One of them escaped and called a friend, who then called police, according to the report.</p><p>The friend busted down the door to the apartment and Frick lunged at him, the report said.</p><p>After Frick was handcuffed, he made threats toward an officer.</p><p>He was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital and then released to be taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was held on $13,600 bond.</p>
