Gillard finishes 18th at Indiana Amateur

Noah Gillard settled for a final-round 77, dropping into a tie for 18th place after Thursday play at the Indiana Amateur, which was held at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville.

Picking up midway through after play was suspended Wednesday, Gillard bogeyed the ninth, 10th and 11th holes to fall back off the pace set by leaders Joe Weiler and Jack Sparrow. Bogeys on 15 and 17 left Gillard at 1 over par for the tournament, nine strokes back.

Weiler defeated Sparrow in a playoff for the title.

Ethan Shepherd shot a 73 Thursday to finish at +3 overall, tied for 29th. Logan Anderson wound up tied for 55th at +17 after a final-round 83.
