Center Grove PD wins national award

<p>The Center Grove Police Department has received one of three nationwide awards form the National Association of School Resource Officers for its training, policy and standards.</p><p>The Model School Resource Officer Agency Award emphasizes officers’ roles as mentors, guest lecturers and law enforcement officers. Award-winning departments display creative and innovative strategies when it comes to school-based policing, according to a Center Grove news release.</p><p>&quot;This award is a testament to the dedication of our officers and the exceptional leadership of Chief Ray Jackson,&quot; Assistant Superintendent Bill Long said in the release. &quot;Chief Jackson and I work to ensure our officers are fully trained on all aspects of school safety. We appreciate the support of our school board in recognizing the value of the police department as they protect and mentor our students.&quot;</p><p>Along with Center Grove, the Noblesville Police Department and McKinney Police Department in McKinney, Texas received the award.</p>
