Grizzly Cubs edge Falcons

Franklin pulled out a 177-182 victory over Perry Meridian at Hillview on Wednesday. Ellie Beavins led the Grizzly Cubs with a round of 40, followed by Liv Parramore (43), Carly Woodward (46) and Ava Ray (48).

Braves top Eagles

Indian Creek overpowered Brown County on Wednesday, 200-227. Jacqui Button earned medalist honors with a 43 from the Braves, while Hannah Emenhiser added a 49 and Brooke Coy finished at 51.

Swimming

Oliver, Destrampe compete at Junior Nationals

Former Franklin swimmer Jacob Destrampe and current Grizzly Cub junior Cade Oliver made their first swims of the week Wednesday at the Speedo Junior National Championships in Palo Alto, California.

Oliver posted a time of 2:05.28 in the 200-meter backstroke, finishing 26th in the preliminary field of 104 swimmers. He later placed 27th in the 400 individual medley at 4:31.42, narrowly missing out on advancing to the finals in both events.

Destrampe was 38th in the 100 freestyle, hitting the wall in 51.97 seconds.

Both will swim again on Friday and Saturday.
