Viola Bernice Williams, 92, of Franklin, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2019.
She was born on November 2, 1926 in New Castle, Indiana to John R. and Margaret (Messer) Floyd. She married Richard O. Williams on August 11, 1973.
Bernice is survived by her sister and brother, Audrey Atkinson and Billy Floyd; sons, Stephen Snow and Edward Hendrickson (Love) and daughters, Nancy Bennett (Steve); Tina Petro and Tami Hass (Richard). Also surviving are grandchildren, Stephanie Snow, Jason Snow, Shaun Hendrickson, Amy Gabbard, Christina Mills (Marc), Adam Hass (Brittany) and Evan Hass (Kelly); and great grandchildren, Madison Butts, Ian Snow, Kasia Randall, Savanna Mills, Jonah Hass, Phoebe Hass and Hazel Hass.
She was preceded in passing her parents, John R. and Margaret Floyd; husband, Richard Williams and siblings, Mildred Potter and John R. Floyd, Jr.
Bernice attended school at New Castle High School. She was a Beauty Operator and retired from Arvin Industries in Franklin.
Bernice was a member of Tabernacle Christian Church; the Red Hat Society; BPOE and Phi Chi Epsilon Sorority in New Castle, Indiana.
Rev. Evie Stuard will conduct a Celebration of Bernice’s life on Monday, August 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call on Sunday, August 18 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle, Indiana at a later date.
