Man said he was robbed, hit with gun

A man said he was hit twice with a gun and robbed of his pills and cash when leaving a Center Grove area tobacco store on Wednesday night, according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim told the sheriff’s deputy that he was at the store in Greenwood and was looking for a ride to the grocery store and home. A worker connected the man with two people who would drive him to the errands, the report said.

Two people arrived to pick him up and took him home. After he left the vehicle, the man got out and hit the victim in his eye and the back of the head with a Glock 45 or a 9 mm pistol, according to the report. He called police about 9:15 p.m. to his residence on West County Line Road.

The suspect took about 55 prescription pills and $20 cash from the victim. The victim was taken to Community Hospital South for treatment.
