Bank with Franklin roots names new board members

A Franklin-based bank has added two members to its board of directors.

Mutual Savings Bank, which has its headquarters in Johnson County, named Angela Coy of Franklin and Lynnette Gray of Greenwood to the bank’s board of directors. Their appointments were effective Sunday. The additions are due to expected retirements from the board in the coming years.

Coy is a certified public accountant and partner at Compass Pointe CPAs in Greenwood.

Gray is a partner in the law firm of Johnson Gray & Johnson in Franklin, where she tries personal injury, mediation and real estate litigation, and represents local governments.

Both are active in the Johnson County community.

Mutual Savings Bank started in Franklin in 1890 and now has six branches in Franklin, Greenwood, Nineveh and Trafalgar. The Greenwood branch is the newest physical location.

“Our bank was founded by quality individuals who were leaders in their fields and involved in the community. Today, we have added two more individuals to our board of directors who possess those qualities,” said David Coffey, president and CEO of Mutual Savings Bank. “The addition of Angela and Lynn improves the depth of our board and helps with the transition of directors who will be retiring from the board over the next two years. Angela and Lynn are terrific individuals, active in the community and well respected in their chosen fields. They both will be valued additions and I look forward to working with them.”

Coy is a Franklin College graduate and became a partner in her firm in 2010. She is a member of the AICPA and the Indiana CPA Society. She is also a graduate of the 2009 class of Leadership Johnson County where she later served on the board of directors for six years. She is also a member of the Franklin College Alumni Council.

Gray is a graduate of Ball State University and the Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis. She is on the board of directors for the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association. She is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association and is vice president of the Johnson County Bar Association. She has served with Leadership Johnson County, United Way of Johnson County, 100 Women Who Care, Johnson Memorial Hospital Foundation and JCCOAD.
