County artists featured in exhibition

Three Johnson County artists’ works have been selected for the Hoosier Salon 95th Annual Exhibition on display through Oct. 13 at the Indiana State Museum in Indianapolis.

The local artists featured are:

Roy Boswell of Franklin had two oil paintings in the exhibition, “Remnants of the Flood” and “Slow Summer Fallow Field.” “Remnants of the Flood” won the fifth-place prize in the landscape category.

Dianna Porter of Greenwood has an oil painting on display, “I Heart You.”

Rick Wilson of Edinburgh was chosen for an oil painting, “Long Road Home.”

The exhibition features 154 works ranging from oil paintings and drawings to sculptures. The Hoosier Salon Annual Exhibition is Indiana’s longest-running annual exhibition of works by Indiana artists.

The show is open to the public during regular museum hours, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.

Admission to the entire museum, is $17 for adults, $16 for seniors, $15 for college students and $12 for youth and under three is free. The Indiana State Museum is located at 650 W. Washington St., Indianapolis.
