Gay has emerged as a unique voice in modern poetry. The Indiana University professor has released three books of poems, “Against Which,” “Bringing the Shovel Down” and “Catalog of Unabashed Gratitude,” the latter of which won Gay the 2015 National Book Critics Circle Award and the 2016 Kingsley Tufts Award. His collection of essays, “The Book of Delights,” was released earlier this year. The presentation is part of Franklin College’s Carlson-Stauffer Visiting Writers Series.

One of the Midwest’s best symphony orchestras comes to Johnson County as one of the final events of Mallow Run’s Picnic Concert Series.
