<p>Twelve inmates at the Johnson County jail got into a fight that escalated to one of the men throwing a chair at a jail officer, and caused injuries to inmates.</p>
<p>A mid-September jailhouse brawl involving a dozen inmates could result in additional criminal charges for each of them.</p>
<p>The fight was caught on video, and that evidence as well as interviews with inmates was used to investigate the incident, according to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.</p>
<p>The fight began about 7:40 p.m. on Sept. 12 between one group of five inmates, and another group of two inmates.</p>
<p>Inmates punched each other in the head with fists and flipped through the air. Other inmates were hit on the ground, the report said.</p>
<p>As jail officers rushed in to stop the brawl, an inmate had a gash on his head and was bleeding from his mouth, the report said.</p>
<p>One man threw a chair at an officer, which missed the officer and hit an inmate in the head, the report said. Inmates were also fighting under the stairs until other officers were called in to restrain the inmates.</p>
<p>The inmates involved in the fight could face misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct charges.</p>
<p>The prosecutor’s office is still investigating what charges might be filed, Johnson County Prosecutor Joe Villanueva said.</p>
