A woman reported at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday that someone broke into her apartment in the 2000 block of Cedar Lane and took about $3,400 worth of stuff, including televisions, jewelry, name-brand clothing, prescription pills, a video game system and multiple phones, according to a Franklin Police Department report.
[sc:text-divider text-divider-title="Story continues below gallery" ]

The woman told police she suspected the Salyers because she had a conflict with them in the previous days and a social media post depicted her selling goods similar to what was taken, according to the report.

Police asked Chelsea Salyer if they could walk through her apartment, but she denied them access and said she was in Anderson. The officer called Anderson police to do a check on the address Chelsea Salyer provided and the Anderson police were unable to confirm that Chelsea Salyer was at the address, the report said.

A warrant was issued to search the Salyer’s apartment in Franklin and both were at the apartment. Donovan Salyer told police he was the one who broke into the apartment and took the items. Most of the items were recovered during the search, the report said.

They were both taken to the Johnson County jail, where Donovan Salyer, 2755 S. County Road 600 East, was held on $7,800 bond and Chelsea Salyer, 2014 Cedar Lane, Apt. 2, was released on $2,000 bond.
