Ice, snow, arctic blast hit county

As much as 3 inches of snow could be on the ground when you leave for work today.

Monday, rain transitioned to ice, then snow, dropping 1 to 3 inches in Johnson County and much of central Indiana, according to the National Weather Service. A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 8 a.m. today. Flash freezing was expected.

Temperatures plunged overnight, with a morning wind chill as low as 5 below zero, Monday’s alert said.
