Franklin teen invites public to lighting display

A Franklin teen is inviting friends, family and the community out to see his magical Christmas light display.

Payton Bohler, a student at Whiteland Community High School, has been decorating his family’s home for years. Each year, his display gets bigger and better at what he calls Christmas Acres.

This year’s efforts include nearly 40,000 lights. Bohler and his family will host a lighting party from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Christmas Acres, 6211 N. 500 E, Franklin.

Farm Girl Mercantile, the Franklin shop owned by Bohler’s mother, Tracy Bohler, will have a pop-up shop at the lighting ceremony.

In addition to coming to enjoy the lights, people are encouraged to bring nonperishable or canned food for donation. Bohler plans to collect food all season long to give to the Interchurch Food Pantry.
