Franklin College accepting food drive donations

Franklin College will be accepting food drive donations as admission to sporting events.

The college athletic training program will be accepting food drive donations at the women’s and men’s basketball games starting at 2 and 4 p.m. today, instead of the regular $5 admission.

Two food items are required in order for the ticket cost to be waived.

The college goal is to collect 500 items to donate to the food pantry. Food items donated must be non-perishable and no glass containers will be accepted. Items in high demand include canned meats, soups, peanut butter and oatmeal, as well as paper towels.

Donations will benefit the Interchurch Food Pantry of Johnson County.
