New deputy police chief announced
Franklin has a new deputy chief of police.
Scott Summers has been named second in command at the Franklin Police Department. Chief Kirby Cochran still holds the top job.
Former deputy chief Chris Tennell stepped down from the position, and Summer’s promotion took effect Dec. 14, Franklin Mayor Steve Barnett said.
Summers was chosen for the job because he is a respected police officer and Barnett said he an Cochran would make a good leadership team.
