The start of the new year is the time to start some good habits, and this series of events lets you be creative at the same time. Adults 18 and over can stop by The Studio at the library to make eco-friendly cleaning products. Supplies will be provided. Registration is encouraged at greenwoodlibrary.us.

WHY WOMEN’S HISTORY MATTERS, 6 p.m. Monday, Franklin library, 401 State St., free.

In 1920, women earned the right to vote through the passage of the 19th Amendment. One hundred years later, the Franklin library is examining the contributions of women throughout history with a dinner and discussion series.

Mary Ellen Lennon, who teaches history and women’s studies at IUPUC, will lead the lecture focused on the life, legend and legacy of Pocahontas and La Malinche, indigenous women who greatly impacted the settlement of North America.
