Police find weapons possibly used in Saturday’s shooting

Police have located the weapons they believe were used to kill a teen Saturday night in Franklin, according to a Franklin Police Department news release.

Police found two weapons in Indianapolis, where both suspects were living and arrested, said Kirby Cochran, Franklin police chief.

"Our investigations team continues to follow up on new leads, and more arrests are possible in this senseless killing of 18 year old Donovan Burdine," Cochran said in the news release Wednesday.

Police identified Burdine Tuesday after an autopsy was completed and it was determined he died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Burdine was shot to death Saturday night in an alley behind the Boys and Girls Club of Franklin in what police believe was a drug deal gone bad. Two suspects were arrested but not charged in the shooting, which is being investigated as a homicide, said Kirby Cochran, Franklin police chief.

Emilio Luis Garcia, 20, was arrested on charges of murder and robbery. He is suspected of being the shooter, said Kirby Cochran, Franklin police chief.

Police also arrested Roger Lewis Miller, 21, on a misdemeanor charge of assisting a criminal. He is believed to be the driver of the vehicle used in the shooting.

Garcia is held without bond. Miller was released on $250 bond.
