A pair of Center Grove choirs finished just short of the top spot Saturday in a Fishers invitational.
The two choirs, Sound System and The Debtones, both took first runner-up spots in the Large Mixed division and Large Unisex division, respectively, according to a news release from Center Grove Community Schools.
The Debtones took home awards for Best Vocals and Best Visuals. Individual students also earned recognition. Senior Cameron Poole was first runner-up in a solo competition, and juniors Abigail Johnson and Maggie Nguyen were named Duet Competition Grand Champion, according to the news release.
The Debtones, Sound System and Accents, another Center Grove schools choir, will compete Saturday at the Carroll Classic in Fort Wayne, the news release said.
