Annual soup supper will help future homeowners

<p>A dinner of warm soup and admiring a handmade craft will help first-time homeowners realize their dream of getting a house of their own.</p><p>Habitat for Humanity of Johnson County’s annual Soup Bowl is Feb. 23.</p><p>The fundraising event will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at Scott Hall at the Johnson County fairgrounds in Franklin.</p><p>For $25, attendees get to pick out a handmade pottery bowl and enjoy soups donated by local restaurants, as well as bread, dessert and drink. A silent auction will be held — items will include pottery.</p>[sc:text-divider text-divider-title="Story continues below gallery" ]<p>Buy your tickets in advance at Horizon Bank branches, Franklin Mutual Savings Bank branches, First Merchant’s Bank, MOXY Salon, Habitat ReStore, Edinburgh Public Library and at the door the day of the event.</p><p>Habitat builds houses in partnership with qualified low-income clients. Homeowners are selected based on their need for housing, ability to repay a no-interest mortgage and willingness to partner with Habitat.
