Frank Kelso Martin 91 of Franklin, IN passed away Wednesday March 4, 2020 at the Indiana Masonic Home at Compass Park in Franklin, IN.
</p>
<p>
He was born July 23, 1928 in Indianapolis, IN to Peter and Pearl (Pittman) Martin. He married Willu C. (Wise) Martin on September 5, 1954 at the Trafalgar United Methodist Church in Trafalgar, IN. She preceded him in death on October 1, 2015.
</p>
<p>
He was a 1946 graduate of Center Grove High School where he played basketball and his team won the Johnson County High School basketball championship in 1946. He was a 1952 graduate of Franklin College. He joined the Kappa Delta Rho, Epsilon Chapter fraternity so he could get cheap room and board.
</p>
<p>
He earned a degree in Economics and Business Administration. He also did some graduate work at Butler University in Federal Income Taxation. He earned the designations of CDP – Certificate in Data Processing in 1965 and FLMI – Fellow in Life Insurance Management Institute in 1975.
</p>
<p>
He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War having serviced from 1952 to 1954. He was a stenographer in the army and spent time in Yokohama and Tokyo, Japan.
</p>
<p>
After returning from Japan, Frank took a job at the Spencer County Farm Bureau Cooperative as an Office Manager and worked there for two years. He then worked in Indianapolis for Gaseteria, Inc. as an Office Manager. He worked there for three years.
</p>
<p>
In 1959 he got a job at Meridian Insurance where he worked for almost 23 years. He started out as Manager of the Accounting Department and worked his way up to the Treasurer of the company. He held that position for about 13 years. Then in April 1983 he began working for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with their Welfare Services Department as the Area Financial Manager for the area east of the Mississippi River. He worked there until he retired December 31, 1993.

<p>
He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout his life. He especially loved serving with the youth, serving in the temple and doing genealogy. He and his wife served a mission in Okinawa, Japan. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed traveling, boating, golfing, working jigsaw puzzles and visiting with friends. He also enjoyed playing basketball in his younger years!

Frank is survived by his son Rex Martin (Pam) of Indianapolis, IN; grandson Kevin Martin (Kimberly) of Indianapolis, IN; granddaughter Zandra Martin of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter Kimberlee Hill (Strait) of Columbus, IN; grandson Jacob Hill (Hyerim) of Bowling Green, KY; granddaughter Sarah Kotowski (Derek) of San Antonio, TX; three great grandchildren, Myles Kotowski, Capri Kotowski and Jade Kotowski; grandson Andrew Hill of Provo, UT; grandson Daniel Hill of Provo, UT; brother Peter G. Martin of Bonita Springs, FL; brother Timothy R. Martin (Tamara) of Indianapolis, IN; sister-in-law Mary Ellen Martin of Bear, DE; brother-in-law Lyman Henrie of St. George, UT; sister-in-law Donna Josette (Wise) Voiles of Franklin, IN, and several nieces and nephews.
</p>
<p>
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings Gerald Emil Martin (Joan), Albert Kenton Martin and Susan Kay Henrie.
</p>
<p>
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Franklin Chapel, 201 North Eastview Drive, State Road 44 Franklin, IN. Friends may call Friday, March 13, 2020 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street), Franklin, IN and Saturday from 10 a.m. till service time at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Franklin Chapel.
</p>
<p>
Burial will be immediately following the service in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN with military honors conducted by the United States Army Honor Guard and Franklin American Legion Post 205 Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin Ward, attention Missionary Fund in care of Andy Hilton, 1285 West 100 North, Franklin, IN 46131.
