A free training course on responding to local disasters has been canceled in response to concerns about the COVID-19 outbreak.
The training, which would certify residents for the Community Emergency Response Team, is being sponsored by Johnson County Community Organizations Active in Disasters. It had been scheduled for April 4, 11 and 18.
Another round of training will be held later in the year, with more information to come.
