State reports fourth death, 3 new Johnson County cases

The Indiana State Department of Health on Saturday reported three new cases of COVID-19 in Johnson County, bringing the total number of presumptive positive cases to seven.

The state health department also confirmed the fourth Indiana death from the virus, an adult patient in Delaware County over the age of 60 who had been hospitalized.

The death was first announced by the Delaware County Health Department. The state health department reported 47 new positive cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing to 126 the number of Hoosiers diagnosed through ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and private laboratories. All but one are adults. All four Hoosier deaths were patients over the age of 60.

According to the state health department’s coronavirus dashboard, which is updated daily, 833 Hoosiers have been tested, including 279 who were tested in the last 24 hours.
