Leadership Johnson County to host virtual workshop

Leadership Johnson County will host a virtual workshop on negotiations from 9 a.m. to noon May 1.

The organization has put together a program called “Strategic Negotiations — Moving Past the Zero-Sum Game.”

Participants of the workshop will learn three proven tactics that lead to successful negotiating outcomes: creating value, not claiming value; BATNA and effective evaluation of alternative solutions; and hardball tactics and overcoming objections.

The facilitator, Carolyn Goerner, serves as ALDI’s Distinguished I-Core Clinical Professor at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University-Bloomington. Prior to joining Kelley’s Department of Management and Entrepreneurship faculty in 2000, she completed her doctorate in management and human resources at The Ohio State University. Goerner also owns Practical Paradigms, a training and consulting company.

The workshop will be held virtually via Zoom. Tickets are $49 per person for Leadership Johnson County and Franklin College alumni, Franklin, Aspire, and Indy Chamber members. The cost is $59 per person, general public.
