JCPL offering curbside pickup

Readers will now be able to pick up books, movies and other items from the Johnson County Public Library.

On Monday, curbside pickup began at the White River, Franklin, Clark Pleasant and Trafalgar library branches. Library patrons can either call their local library branch or the Johnson County Public Library’s website to reserve items, according to a library news release.

Once the patron reserves the items, they can go to the library branch between noon and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, or between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Once at the library branch, they can call and request the items. A library worker will put the items in a bag on a table outside the building, according to the news release.

Once the patron returns the items they checked-out, the library will quarantine it for three days due to the possibility of COVID-19 contamination.

The Johnson County Public Library has been closed since March due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
