Alice Fyffe, 90, of Greenwood, Indiana passed away May 6, 2020. Alice was born to the late Elmer and Pearl (Cassity) Eggers in Groveland, Indiana.
</p>
<p>
Alice is survived by her children, Mark (Ethel) Fyffe, Patti Teague, Dennis (Kris) Fyffe, Daniel (Sheryl) Fyffe, Deborah (Todd) Nobbe, Laura (Jeffrey) Cummings, 41 grandchildren (including spouses) and 13 great-grandchildren.
</p>
<p>
Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Fyffe Jr., children Garry Fyffe and Sandra Ader, and brother Thomas Eggers.
</p>
<p>
Alice lived an extraordinary life. She grew up in rural Putnam County, Indiana. She was raised by her grandparents from infancy after the death of her mother from scarlet fever. A large family garden supported the family. They did not have electricity, indoor plumbing, or a car.
</p>
<p>
In 1947, Alice graduated from Bainbridge High School and moved to Indianapolis seeking work. On August 26, 1950, Alice married the love of her life, Frank Fyffe Jr. Together they raised eight children and were active members in their church (Our Lady of the Greenwood) and the community. Besides being a very busy wife and mother, Alice worked many jobs over her lifetime including seamstress, sales associate for L. S. Ayres and Bank Manager for Indiana National Bank.

Alice made sure her kids had the opportunity to go to college and then set an example by going to college as an adult. At age 53, Alice graduated from the University of Indianapolis with a business degree. Alice was a longtime member of the American Sewing Guild. She loved to travel and saw much of the United States and Europe.
</p>
<p>
Funeral services for Alice will be Thursday, May 14. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral will be limited to family members. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Alice’s honor to the Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church or the FACE Low-Cost Animal Clinic .
</p>
